SIWAK NOIR

Q1. What can I do when there is mold on my Siwak or Holder?
Ans: When you decide to use the Siwak after it was not used for a long time and discover mold growth, there are these following options:

If the mold is just at the outer layer, it is sufficient to wash it off. However if the mold has reached the core of the Siwak, you just need to cut that part off.

If there is mold inside the holder, you can try to wash it off. But if the mold is deeply inside the bamboo, we recommend not using the holder anymore.

Therefore it is important to keep the holder and Siwak dry at all times.

Q2. How can I prevent mold growing inside the Bamboo Holder?
Ans: Siwak Noir provides every single holder with a small hole at the bottom to help prevent this. This allows air to access the holder, and not making it air-tight. Even though they reduced the change of mold growth, you are highly recommended to not place the Siwak back in the holder while it’s wet. If the holder gets wet, you should dry it before putting it away. And of course using the Siwak on a regular base helps preventing mold to grow because this way it does not sit still in a dark and cool place.

Q3. How long does the Siwak last?
Ans: This depends on how often the Siwak is used. The more you use the Siwak, the sooner you need to cut off the used part. However Siwak Noir do not recommend using the same Siwak for more than 10 months.

GENERAL SIWAK CARE

Q1. Do I have to peel the outer layer and how long does one stick last before it reaches the end? Does it have an expiration date?
Ans: In order to get to the bristles, peel approximately 1cm of the outer layer to reveal the fibers. You can use a knife or scissors to cut your miswak.

Each miswak is approximately six fresh brushes, and it really depends on how often you cut it. If you cut yours once a day, one stick should last you approximately one week.

If you cut it only when the bristles loses its freshness (about 4-5 uses, depending on your lifestyle), this way it should last you more than one week. If you are travelling and there is no water access to rinse it, we highly recommend to cut the used bristle before storing.

It doesn't expire, but it does lose freshness over time. Because it's a natural product and reacts to its surroundings, it may dry up or get too moist so it's best to use it within 1 month of purchasing it.

Q2. How often should I use the Miswak?
Ans: You can use it as often as you like - it works great in between meals, before each solah and on the go since you don't need water or toothpaste.

Q3. Where should I store it?
Ans: To keep your miswak fresh, store it in a dry environment where it can breathe, away from sunlight. Avoid keeping it in the bathroom as it is highly absorbent. Miswak Holder/Case that is with ventilation holes perfect for storing the miswak on the go.

Q4. I heard that freezing the miswak preserves it, is that true?
Ans: Some people like to freeze their miswaks to keep them fresh for later use, but this isn't necessary if they are vacuum sealed.

Q5: Is it more effective than a toothbrush?
Ans: Studies have shown that the miswak produces as good, if not better, results than a toothbrush and toothpaste. However, you should always consult with your doctor or dentist about the best oral care option for you.

Q6: Can I use my own miswak with the existing miswak holder/case?
Ans: The miswak holder/case is designed to hold miswaks of a certain diameter and length to allow for maximum portability, so as long as your miswak fits in the case, there shouldn't be a problem. You'll have to make sure it's the right length, diameter and straightness.

ROYAL MISWAK

FAQ source from product founder's website.

Q1. How can avoid mold growth on my Miswak?
Ans: As with all organic products, keeping a miswak in a damp and air-tight environment will lead to mold growth. Therefore, it should be noted that the tube is meant to preserve the quality of the miswak before it is opened and not to be used as a carrying case. If you wish to use the tube as a carrying case we only recommend doing so for temporary periods and only if the miswak is completely dry. You may either let the miswak dry, cut off the wet tip, or simply use the tube without closing the cap. On another note, to get the best performance out of your miswak, you should keep it out so it may breathe. This will ensure that remains as clean fresh as possible and even start to develop a sweetness to its taste.

Q2. What do I do if my Miswak has mold on it?
Ans: The mold is actually completely harmless. So if the mold has only formed on the surface of the miswak, you can simply wash it off and continue using your miswak. However, if the mold has started to grow deep into the miswak, then we recommend cutting the moldy portion off or just throwing the miswak away.

BE BEARDIFUL

Q1. How is the beard care products selected?
Ans: We, Sunnah One-Stop Store is very careful when selecting the beard care products to sell. Ensuring there is no prohibited ingredients or process that is against Islam - safe for all, including Muslim.

Beard Organics LLC. only use organic ingredients that moisturizes the skin while nourishing the beard. This is important to care for your skin and beard. NO
 harsh chemicals, dyes, and additives.

Q2. Do your Beard Care products help to grow beard?
Ans: The beard care products we've chose promote a healthier skin under the beard and a healthier beard. It definitely helps grow the beard when oiled regularly.

Q3. What ingredients do Beard Organics LLC. use?
Ans: The Beard Organics formula is simple and composed of a special carrier oil base that is then mixed with essential oils for a lightly scented beard oil blend. They are all natural and organic ingredients which guarantees the highest quality and purity.

The base ingredients that they use are:

  • Jojoba oil which moisturizes without leaving a greasy residue.
  • Grapeseed oil which reduces brittleness while adding sheen and shine.
  • Argan oil which reduces dryness and itchiness.
  • Avocado oil provided essential vitamins and nutrients to help moisturize your beard and skin.

Due to its low availability and high cost, most beard oil brands use a nasty synthetic Argan alternative that causes outbreaks. Beard Organics only uses pure organic Argan oil to keep your skin fresh, clean, moisturized and looking its best.

Beard Organics finish off the beard oil blend with pure essential oil. Most essential oils on the market are full of chemicals that dilute the oil and wreak havoc on your skin. Beard Organics only use organically grown and harvested 100% pure essential oils.

Q4. Where should this be stored?
Ans: They come in amber glass bottles and it is still recommended to be stored away from direct sunlight to extend shelf life.

Q5. How long do your Beard Oil last when apply daily?
Ans: It should be used within 6 months once opened.

Q6. What is the difference between Beard Oil and Beard Balm?
Ans: Oils are always more absorbent by your skin than balms and because of its liquid state it's easily applied to the roots of the beard and skin underneath. Beard Oils for this reason contain all the necessary blend of oils at the right formula to prevent any breakouts for acne prone skins and to strengthen and moisturize the beard at its root.

Q7. Is it recommended to apply Balm after the beard is oiled? And why?
Ans: Beard Balms on the other hand provide a protective barrier that seals in the moisture when applied after the beard oil. The other benefit to the beard balm that the beard oil cannot do is that it can help sculpt and control the beard avoid any loose hair strands to give you a well groomed and polished look.

Q8. Is it okay to use different types of Beard Oils in a day?
Ans: Our beard oils contain zero essential oils so there aren't any risk of rashes or burns if used excessively. Our beard oil bases are all the same containing all the necessary carrier oils. The key difference between our beard oils is the natural phthalate free fragrance blend. The prices of our oils differ when based on the key ingredients of these fragrance blends. So there's no harm in using all of our beard oils in the same day. However, the fragrance blend / contamination might not end up so pleasing to the nose. So with that in mind, we wouldn't recommend it.

Q9. If I can't grow a beard, is there a right way that I could shave and jumpstart the beard growth?
Ans: It's a complete myth that shaving your beard or any part of your body would increase the hair growth process (this has been proven by numerous studies). In fact, shaving can cause ingrown hairs and split ends in your beard so we would never advise to shave so that you can grow a fuller beard.

If one is growing their beard for the Sunnah (Following the Footsteps of the Prophet Muhammad peace and blessing be upon him) Then one should realize that Allah does not look at your appearance, the length of your beard - how full it is or if one can only grow a few strands of hair - To Allah, it's your intention that counts. So if your intention is to grow your beard for purposes of Sunnah, Then understand that if you do not shave, and have only a few strands of hair or a "patchy" beard, it is no different than having a completely full beard InShaAllah. For the Sunnah is to "Trim the moustache and let the beard grow" There is a huge difference between letting your beard grow and forcing it to grow. This does not mean however that one should not maintain it. The Messenger of Allah Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa Sallam (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was in the mosque when a man came in with unkempt hair and beard. The Messenger of Allah Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa Sallam (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) motioned with his hand that he should be sent out to groom his hair and beard. The man did so and then returned. The Messenger of Allah Sallallahu 'Alayhi wa Sallam (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Isn’t this better than that one of you should come with his head dishevelled, as if he were a shaytan?” [Malik]
